Middle school sports is going very well. Next sports day is Thursday February 4th.
School wide Title 1
PV and Descasno qualify as School wide Title 1 schools.
Comprehensive school safety program – Sheri Miller
We have binders for the plan, one for each site. All sections are labeled with a table of contents. Board policies, forms, procedures, discrimination and harassment, dress code, maps, rules, discipline, bullying harassment etc.
The emergency plan info is in section B in red to review with staff. The red folder is tactical info for the school site staff only.
The binder is for public; will track who reviews binder, like a sign up sheet, secretaries will have the binder and be able to allow public to review.
School District is working on district wide communication systems, even linking to cell phones. Will be presented to the board in February. An expensive system, but can have part of it. All schools have different lock down procedures; district has a new SRO for the district. Trying to come up with a district wide policy for consistency.
An idea of a phone tree, call log. In the red folder is a list to fill out with phone numbers and emergency contacts. If phones and cells phones go down, the schools have contact info for staff.
There is a sign sheet for all to sign that they have read and reviewed the binder.
Motion to approve CSSP Binder for both sites: Donna Burton
